Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Plumber for a well-established M&E contractor in the North‑west. You will service commercial contracts in areas like Preston, Lancaster, Blackpool, Wigan and Blackburn, with overtime and progression opportunities in a growing FM team.

The role requires NVQ Level 2/3 in mechanical/plumbing, a valid UK driving licence, Legionella awareness and strong customer-facing experience in occupied buildings.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 mechanical/plumbing qualification.
• Experience working with customers and clients in occupied public buildings.
• Legionella awareness and water hygiene knowledge.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Attend commercial projects and call-outs to maintain and fault-find plumbing and heating systems.
• Install, maintain and repair hot/cold water, sanitary ware, pipework, valves and pumps.
• Carry out water hygiene tasks and monitor temperatures.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, building regs and water hygiene standards.
• Communicate professionally with clients and site managers across locations.

Maintenance Plumber

Meridian are working with a well-established M&E contractor in the North-west who predominantly work across areas like Preston, Lancaster, Blackpool, Wigan, and Blackburn. With a growing FM team of permanent maintenance engineers, you would be joining a respected and growing division of this company. Requirements for this role:

• Mechanical qualification to NVQ Level 2 or Level 3
• CSCS card desireable
• Experience being customer and client-facing within a variety of occupied, public buildings
• Legionella Control/Awareness
• Experience of Maintenance and PPM within commercial environments
• Various mechanical PPM, call-out, and FM experience
• Current Enhanced DBS Check(or willingness to undertake)
• Full UK Driving Licence

Duties include (but are not exclusive to):

• Attending commercial projects and call-outs to maintain, fault-find, and fix mechanical building servicesquickly and effectively
• Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial plumbing and heating systems such as hot and cold water systems, sanitary ware, pipework, valves, pumps, and other plant equipment
• Complete water hygiene tasks, including temperature monitoring and maintenance
• Ensure all work complies with health & safety, building regulations, and water hygiene standards
• Communicateprofessionally and effectivelywith with clients and site managers in various locations, sometimes including sensitive environments
• Keep accurate records, reports, and certification where required
