Job summary

United Utilities’ Windermere Wastewater Treatment Works in Cumbria is seeking a Maintenance Planner to identify risks, build proactive maintenance plans, and coordinate with maintenance, scheduling and supply chain teams.

You will review tasks, prioritise work and shape executable maintenance plans from one week to a year ahead, applying root cause analysis to improve asset reliability within a supportive FTSE 100 company.

Qualifications

• Has deep maintenance knowledge and can estimate time, materials, and skills needed for jobs.
• Understands plant operations, equipment, and health & safety processes.
• Experienced with SAP and MARS systems.
• Holds a full UK driving licence and is able to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Put safety first by identifying risks early and building proactive maintenance plans for short, medium, and long-term asset care.
• Work closely with maintenance, scheduling, and supply chain teams to ensure the right materials and services are in place for planned work.
• Review and prioritise new maintenance tasks, aiming to minimise disruption to water treatment operations.
• Build and improve a library of job plans, adapting them with input from operations and engineering teams to boost asset reliability.
• Collaborate daily with schedulers and attend planning meetings to shape executable maintenance plans from one week to a year ahead.
• Request asset shutdowns when needed, report missed maintenance opportunities and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
