Job Description
The Maintenance Planner offers a basic salary of £39,500 working for a PLC listed, market-leading manufacturer based at their Throckley factory near Newcastle.
The Maintenance Planner will work closely with the Site Engineering Manager and Engineering Team Leaders to maximize the performance of engineering operations. They will be responsible for work planning of the maintenance team and contract labor, including shutdowns and PPMs.

Main duties of the Maintenance Planner:
- Lead maintenance shutdown coordination, establishing best engineering practices
- Control and populate the engineering shift plan for all personnel, including contractors
- Chair weekly scheduling meetings for planned activities
- Control, populate, and prioritize a work backlog for all maintenance activities
- Implement and support the new CMMS and T-card systems
- Work with Engineering Supervisors and Managers to schedule work that maintains and improves asset reliability
- Coordinate with production and other departments to ensure effective planning and execution of maintenance activities
- Manage work orders for equipment repairs and ensure proper cost recording
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all plant activities
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure safe and quality work activities on-site
Experience required:
- CMMS and Maintenance Planning experience
- Strong organizational skills for resource planning and coordination
- Engineering training/qualifications (NVQ3, HNC)
- Demonstrable mechanical and electrical engineering skills
- Problem-solving tools and techniques for efficiency
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Good communication techniques
