Job description

Equans is seeking a Mobile BMS Engineer to join our Digital team, covering parts of York and surrounding areas on a full-time basis.

Our Digital division offers an exciting opportunity to upgrade and enhance Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure across various sectors including commercial, retail, healthcare, education, and government nationwide. This work aims to make sites Smart Enabled, enabling us to introduce additional value through IoT solutions, which bring social, economic, and environmental benefits to the communities and people within these sites.

We handle projects from £10k to £1.5m, supported by in-house teams and specialist supply chain partners. With aggressive growth planned over the next 3-5 years, this role is vital for shaping and expanding our team sustainably.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain BMS components such as sensors, controllers, actuators, and software systems.
• Perform maintenance on Trend, Tridium, and Distech BMSs across various sites.
• Participate in a reactive call-out rota, with additional financial benefits for on-call attendance.
• Provide technical support to clients regarding their BMS systems.
• Identify opportunities for system improvements and remedial works.
• Prepare proposals and quotations for works as needed.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ.
• Extensive knowledge of BMS/HVAC systems.
• Experience with Trend, Tridium Controls/Niagara, Distech, Siemens.
• Strong understanding of electrical industry standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Knowledge of IT networking.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Controls training/experience.
• Fault-finding experience in electrical panels.
• DBS and potentially BPSS vetting.
• Excellent communication skills.
