Paneltex Ltd in Kingston upon Hull is seeking a Maintenance Operative (Mechanical) to support general maintenance across the site. You will fault-find, service machinery, and assist with installation of new equipment as required, working as part of a busy team.

This role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:00 and Friday 08:00 to 14:00, with salary from £14 per hour DOE. A strong commitment to health and safety, plus flexible overtime, is valued.

Qualifications

• NVQ or equivalent in mechanical or electrical maintenance.
• Multiskilled qualifications are advantageous.
• FLT or IPAF are advantageous but not essential.

Job Overview

You will be responsible for all aspects of general maintenance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• General maintenance throughout the full site.
• Fault finding.
• Servicing of machinery.
• Installation of new equipment when required.
• Assist with electrical and general building repairs.
• You would be part of a busy team and be expected to help with other duties alongside these main responsibilities
• Be familiar with the company’s Health and Safety Policies and in particular with your responsibilities.
• Comply with all relevant internal rules, policies and procedures, included in the company handbook.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Maintenance experience on general equipment such as saws etc.
• Knowledge of machines and fault finding.
• Ability to service and inspect machines.
• General maintenance experience.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Driving licence (preferred)
• Effective communication includes speaking, writing, active listening and taking instructions.
• Ability to prioritise and organise workload in order to meet deadlines.
• Good understanding of Health and Safety.
• Excellent work ethic and team player.
• Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
• Flexible approach to working additional hours when required.
