Job summary

Esland is seeking a competent and multiskilled Maintenance Operative to support care homes and other areas of the business. You will perform carpentry, plumbing, plastering, painting, basic electrical work and gardening, across the Bedford area.

Join a multi-skilled team delivering property maintenance and repair, with strong health and safety standards and the use of Jira to manage and update jobs. A full driving license and flexibility to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance and ability to perform to a high standard.
• Experience in plastering, carpentry and decorating to support homes.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrics.
• Excellent communication with all levels of the organisation.
• Experience using powered hand and bench tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
• Familiar with IT systems; Jira used to manage and update jobs.
• Full driving license and willingness to travel across our homes.

Responsibilities

• Coordination and completion of all aspects of general maintenance and repair in our homes.
• Completion of other maintenance tasks with the wider maintenance team.
• Adhering to health and safety regulations and reporting issues to management.
• Willingness to work one Saturday every 6 weeks.

Description

Are you a competent and multiskilled Maintenance professional looking for a new challenge? We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative to be part of a multi-skilled team, providing property maintenance and repair to our care homes plus other areas of the business. You will work as a part of an integral team, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance and repair procedures such as carpentry, plumbing, plastering, painting, basic electrics and gardening skills. We are looking for someone who is happy and confident to carry out a range of works, maintenance and property upkeep across the Bedford area.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordination and completion of all aspects of general maintenance and repair in our homes.
