NHS Property Services is seeking a Maintenance Operative to support building services maintenance across the NHS. This full-time role involves routine and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and supporting capital works projects. The position is based at Stroud Health Centre, covering Gloucestershire and Bristol. Benefits include a company van, tools, holidays, pension, and NHS discounts.
The key function is to support NHS Property Services in delivering building services maintenance and repairs across the NHS to ensure buildings are maintained to the highest standards and to provide a safe and secure environment for visitors, customers, and employees.
Ensure compliance with all processes, procedures, and policies that meet organisational standards/requirements, including but not limited to our Health & Safety Policy, HTMs (Health Technical Memoranda), and SFG20. Undertake routine planned and reactive maintenance as instructed by the Team Leader, maintaining operational standards at all times. Support minor work activities such as joinery, painting, decoration, general building, ground works, or plumbing. Maintain accurate site log books at NHS premises and support the Projects/Construction team and Team Leader in delivering minor capital works.

We are offering a permanent, full-time role for a Maintenance Operative - Fabric based at Stroud Health Centre, Block C. The position involves 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. The role is mobile, covering Gloucestershire and Bristol. Starting salary is from £28,000, depending on experience, plus on-call allowance. Requirements include:
DBS and DVLA checks are required. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with NHSPS policies, delivering scheduled and reactive maintenance, supporting minor works, maintaining site log books, and supporting capital works projects.
