Role

The maintenance operative is responsible for the excellent care of O2 Academy Oxford, its infrastructure, and appearance. This includes day-to-day maintenance, coordinating contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and implementing continuous improvement strategies to present the venue at the highest standard.

About You

  • Experience in maintenance management or supervisory roles
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, decorative, and carpentry tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and risk assessments
  • Relevant qualifications and safety certifications are advantageous

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing maintenance processes proactively
  • Conducting routine checks
  • Coordinating inspections and readings
  • Planning maintenance, preventative, and corrective schedules
  • Managing repairs
  • Preparing documentation and reports
  • Supervising mechanical and electrical work, including PAT testing, pest control, alarm systems, lift maintenance, CCTV, emergency lighting, ventilation, air conditioning, environmental control, and waste management
  • Ensuring cleanliness and presentation of all areas
  • Liaising with cleaning providers
  • Maintaining hygiene standards
  • Ensuring compliance with safety guidelines for staff and contractors
  • Driving health & safety and risk assessment practices
  • Managing inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
  • Ordering materials and equipment as needed
  • Reviewing repair costs and managing budgets
  • Supervising deliveries
  • Communicating plans for improvements and repairs
  • Interfacing effectively with management, visitors, contractors, and clients
  • Supervising maintenance staff
  • Responding to emergency maintenance requests
  • Attending relevant training courses
