Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Bury is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our team. You will work full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson to keep a safe and healthy environment for service users.

You will perform general maintenance, repairs and building tasks across the site, with travel to other sites and on-call duties as required. DBS check is required for successful candidates.

Qualifications

• Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent years.
• Willing to travel and hold a full valid driving licence.
• Able to communicate at all levels and record maintenance information.
• Skilled at DIY and general maintenance.
• Preferably experienced in electrical/plumbing/construction industry.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service.
• Carry out joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work.
• Maintain equipment, services & vehicles.
• Travel to other sites and be on call for emergencies outside of normal hours.
• Check fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits and emergency lights.

You'll be working full time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson, helping provide a safe and healthy environment for the people in our care Cygnet Bury Hudson provides a wide range of secure mental health services for men including individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder. Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir. • Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Maintain equipment, services & vehicles
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards
• Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights.
  Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent years
• Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
• Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
• Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
• Preferably experienced in the electrical/plumbing/construction industry
