£25,739.13 per annum

Contract:

Permanent, Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative, Labourer, or Handyperson to join our team at HMP Guys Marsh, a category C adult male prison, as an Escort / Fabric Operative.

Join a supportive team working Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Fridays! Our Facilities Maintenance Team ensures the smooth and safe operation of the prison, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues such as Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators. Your responsibilities include supporting trades teams with work orders, managing basic DIY tasks, and escorting subcontractors, ensuring security protocols are followed and access is timely.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in prison or secure environments (desirable)
• Experience with hand and power tools
• Experience in building fabric / Hard FM environment
• Up-to-date First Aid at Work qualification (desirable)
• Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
• Good Health & Safety knowledge
• Organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Confident, robust, and personable character
