About our Home:

Rated GOOD, Halcyon Days offers first-class care for residents over 65, in the picturesque surroundings of Graveley, Hertfordshire. Each resident benefits from personalized care designed to make their stay enjoyable and fulfilling.

This is a 40 hours per week position.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining the building and equipment
  • Carrying out routine checks weekly, monthly, and annually on systems in the home, ensuring external checks are completed within the agreed timeframe
  • Monitoring and responding to fire alarms, boilers, and lifts
  • Using resources effectively for maintenance and repairs
  • Handling banking and purchasing small items for the home
  • Maintaining the building, grounds, and equipment for safety, including decoration, minor plumbing, and garden maintenance
  • Communicating effectively with other teams and colleagues
  • Being aware of the Home's policies, especially fire safety
  • Participating in training and development
  • Training new staff on building layout and fire policies during induction
  • Maintaining confidentiality of clients and business
  • Managing stock and accepting deliveries
  • Adhering to health and safety requirements
  • Communicating within teams and with residents
  • Performing any additional duties as required
  • Engaging in further training to enhance contribution
  • Reviewing and updating the job description regularly
