Job summary

CareTech invites applications for a Maintenance Operative based at The Oakleaf Group in Northampton. You will join a facilities team, maintaining a high standard environment for nursing homes across the Northamptonshire area.

The role requires prior maintenance experience, basic IT skills, and a flexible, reliable approach. The post involves travel between sites and working across internal/external environments at care facilities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a maintenance role.
• Good knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
• Good written and verbal skills.
• Intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Word and email).
• Physically fit and able to lift light items.
• Able to use and maintain hand and power tools.
• Ability to prioritise and adapt to workload.
• Able to carry out some cleaning and external maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance tasks as instructed.
• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating.
• Assist with cleaning or grounds tasks as instructed.
• Assist in operating and maintaining heating and hot water plant.
• Maintain the exterior fabric of the building.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Operative to join our team at The Oakleaf Group in Northampton. The ideal candidate will be someone with good communication skills and a flexible attitude to their work. Must be organised and able to prioritise their work effectively. The successful candidate will be based at our Oakleaf Hartwell site, Northampton. However, you will need to be willing to travel between sites.

The role of Maintenance Operative, is to work as a member of our well-established facilities team, in maintaining and ensuring a high standard environment for our reputable nursing homes based within the Northamptonshire area.

About the Service - The Oakleaf Group

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established multi disciplinary team working within the field of acquired brain injury. The Oakleaf Group currently caters for a male client base specialising in neurological rehabilitation across various sites.

This role is at our Hilltop House site at Hartwell in Northampton, currently rated as Outstanding by CQC.

Working for this Leading Care Provider you will be instrumental in the provision of care and therefore it is desirable that you have a proven track record working in a similar position within the care sector.

The Role

You will:

• To carry out general maintenance tasks as instructed.
• To carry out internal and external paint and decorating
• To assist with cleaning or grounds tasks as instructed.
• To assist in operating and maintaining heating and hot water plant.
• To assist in maintaining the outside fabric of the building.
