Job summary

The Housing Network in Leicester is seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative to join our accommodation-based teams. You will carry out scheduled and responsive maintenance, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical work, and garden upkeep to ensure safe, high-quality living spaces for residents.

We offer a salary of £35,000, 23 days' annual leave, a Blue Light Card, and a company vehicle for business use. DBS checks apply and visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Experience in responsive and planned property maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance on void properties to high standards and in line with contractual targets.
• Travel between properties within a defined region.
• Oversee maintenance of common areas.
• Perform basic carpentry, including door hanging and changing locks.
• Paint and decorate, plus basic plumbing and electrical work.
• Keep garden areas clear and fences maintained.

Maintenance Operative – Leicester

If you are an experienced Maintenance Operative, working in an accommodation-based setting, helping to maintain a great service for those who need us most, this could be the role for you!

• Looking for an opportunity to use your skills, experience and commitment to transform the lives of highly vulnerable people
• Experienced working with all aspects of responsive property maintenance as well as planned maintenance, providing safe accommodation for vulnerable individuals and families

What you’ll be doing:

• Carry out scheduled work on void properties to bring back up to a high standard and in accordance with the Council’s targets prescribed in the contract
• Travelling from property to property within a specific region
• Oversee maintenance of common areas
• Basic carpentry, including door hanging and changing locks
• Painting and decorating, basic plumbing and electrical work
• Ensure the garden area is clear including fencing
