Job summary

Chandlers Ford Care Home is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer to keep the home safe, well maintained and fully operational. You will perform repairs, inspections and general upkeep across building and grounds, ensuring systems run safely and efficiently.

Working closely with the Home Manager, you will support planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination, maintaining a well organised and safe environment in line with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Good knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A proactive and practical approach.
• Reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

About Chandlers Ford Care Home
Chandlers Ford Care Home is a 41 bed, purpose built care home in the village of Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh, on the eastern edge of the South Downs National Park. Providing residential and nursing care, the home offers a welcoming and close knit environment with bright, stylish living spaces, an enclosed garden and comfortable shared areas. Colleagues are part of a supportive team that works together to provide high quality, person centred care and ensure Residents feel valued and supported.

Maintenance Officer Contract

• £14.05 to £14.40 per hour
• Bank
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times. This is a hands on role with responsibility, where your practical skills and proactive approach will directly support the safety, comfort and overall environment.
You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action.
Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required. You will help maintain a well organised, safe and fully functional environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards.
