Job summary

St Ives Town Council is seeking a practical Maintenance Officer (Grounds & Open Spaces) to maintain town and surrounding areas indoors and outdoors, performing duties across grounds maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning and safety checks.

The role requires a hands-on, reliable individual who can work across indoor and outdoor environments and contribute to a safe, well-maintained town for residents and visitors. 37 hours per week with a permanent contract.

• Duties include grounds maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning and safety checks.

Pay: £27,274-£28,153 (Grade 3, SCP 7-9)

St Ives Town Council is looking for a practical, reliable and community-minded Maintenance Officer to help keep our town and surrounding villages clean, safe and well maintained. This is a varied, hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors as well as indoors, takes pride in doing a good job, and is happy to turn their hand to a range of tasks including grounds maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning and safety checks. The Maintenance Officer plays a key part in making this happen. Working indoors and out, they perform a range of duties that help to keep the Council’s buildings and open areas tidy, clean and safe to use. The post holder will have and develop a range of skills to carry out the duties and will have a positive and flexible approach, a willingness to work hard, and a determination to do a good job.
