Job summary

Loughborough College Group is seeking a Maintenance Officer to join the Estates department at Loughborough College. The role focuses on proactive and reactive maintenance while supporting a busy, customer-focused environment.

Shifts run 05:45–13:45 and 13:45–21:45, with a 37.5 hour week across five days. Occasional weekend coverage for events may be required; DBS check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Proven and extensive experience of working in a maintenance or construction trade.
• Experience of working to key performance targets (KPIs).
• Ability to work independently using initiative or as part of a team with clear instruction.
• Ability to maintain good relationships with staff at various levels with integrity and respect.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine compliance checks including legionella monitoring, emergency lighting tests, fire alarm testing, and portable appliance testing.
• Support the opening and securing of college buildings and respond to security call-outs.
• Deliver reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring work meets KPIs and SLAs.
• Provide rapid response to emergencies, liaising with emergency services when required.
• Drive and maintain college vehicles, support traffic and parking management.
