Job description

The suitablecandidates would be able to undertake general maintenance and upkeep ofgrounds, buildings & equipment, as well actioning all maintenance andcontinuous review and improvement of facilities operations, ensuring theenvironment is compliant, safe and well maintained to the highest standards.

Main duties of the job
  • To undertakegeneral building maintenance and repairs throughout the Hub, includingplumbing, minor electrical repairs/work, painting and decorating, and minorbuilding work, including student houses
  • Weekly testingof emergency lighting, H&S checks and legionella testing
  • Maintainpathways/steps around buildings throughout the year
  • Assistwith all deliveries
  • Keep tools and store room tidy

About the Practice/Department/Team

Reporting to the Operations & Compliance Manageryou will be part of 2 man team dealing with the day to day maintenanceissues. Working closely with ManagementSupport team who will coordinate your jobs and responsibilities

Job responsibilities

Overall Aim: to provide support and general maintenance to all 3 buildings and keep a safeworking environment.

Responsibility for the site-specific daily duties, maintenance and up-keep of buildings and generalrepairs and grounds maintenance.

Key responsibilities:

  • To undertake general building maintenance and repairs throughout the Hub, includingplumbing, minor electrical repairs/work, painting and decorating, and minor buildingwork
  • Weekly emergency lighting checks
  • Transfer of stock and items between sites
  • Carry out range of gardening and grounds maintenance activities including mowing,hedge cutting/trimming, planting, weeding, weed killing, pruning, litter picking
  • Carry out health and safety checks on the grounds
  • Check all fire doors for any obstructions or faults
  • General handyman and maintenance duties as required for all sites including studenthouses
  • Keep tools/store room clean and tidy
  • Clear gutters, gulleys, drain grilles and general site from leaves, litter and debristhroughout the year
  • Maintain pathways/steps etc. throughout the year including participating in snowclearing/gritting as necessary and keeping free from hazards
  • Assist with deliveries
Person Specification
Qualifications
  • GCSE Grade A to C or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Electrical skills, plumbing skills
Experience
  • Experience in maintenance environment, fabric of the building
  • Joinery, painting and decorating, water quality testing, electrical safety, experience in a healthcare environment
