Job summary

Henley Chase is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance across our portfolio from our Birmingham offices. You will lead a small team, plan preventative and reactive maintenance, manage budgets, and ensure safety and high standards across sites.

You will also perform hands-on maintenance tasks as required, including gardening, cleaning, painting, and general repairs, with driving to sites as needed. This is an office & site-based, in-person role within the UK.

Qualifications

• Relevant maintenance or trade qualifications.
• Experience carrying out a wide range of building maintenance tasks independently.
• Good working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
• IT literate, with experience using Microsoft 365 and maintenance reporting systems.
• Full UK driving licence (preferred if travelling between sites is required).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day‑to‑day maintenance function.
• Plan, organise and allocate work across the maintenance team.
• Ensure planned and reactive maintenance works are completed on time and to a high standard.
• Develop, implement and maintain planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules across the property portfolio.
• Manage and monitor the maintenance budget.
• Source materials, equipment and external contractors in line with operational requirements.
• Carry out stock management and maintain inventory for maintenance vehicles and stores.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with allHealth & Safety legislation and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting.
• The successful candidate will also carry out general maintenance tasks, including gardening, window cleaning, painting and decorating, general building repairs, and covering during annual leave.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to oversee the delivery of high-quality maintenance services across a portfolio of properties. This is a varied role that combines leadership, organisation, and hands‑on maintenance responsibilities. You'll lead a small maintenance team, manage planned and reactive maintenance programmes, oversee budgets, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Alongside managing operations, you'll also undertake general maintenance duties across office facilities and supported accommodation when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing maintenance cover during periods of annual leave.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in a Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or similar role.
• A confident leader with excellent organisational skills.
• Able to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Comfortable managing budgets and maintenance resources.
• Practical, reliable and willing to work hands‑on when required.
• A proactive problem solver with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
