Goodman Masson is currently working with a social housing organization in Surrey to recruit an interim Maintenance Manager.

Are you an experienced maintenance professional seeking your next leadership challenge? This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established housing provider committed to delivering high-quality homes and services to its residents.

We’re looking for a Maintenance Manager to oversee a team of surveyors and administrative staff, ensuring efficient delivery of maintenance services and high customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Leading a team in delivering responsive repairs, void property inspections, disrepair cases, and cyclical maintenance.
2. Managing contractor performance to meet KPIs and SLAs.
3. Ensuring health and safety compliance across all activities.
4. Managing budgets, delivering value for money, and driving service improvements.
5. Handling escalations and resolving complaints.
6. Supporting collaboration across departments for customer outcomes.
7. Preparing reports for senior leadership and governance groups.
8. Participating in an on-call rota for emergency repairs outside of office hours.

What We’re Looking For:

1. At least 5 years of managing maintenance services and surveying teams, preferably in housing or property sectors.
2. Strong contract and performance management skills, including knowledge of CDM regulations.
3. Ability to diagnose property issues, write specifications, and supervise contractors.
4. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
5. Proficiency in IT systems and record-keeping.
6. Relevant qualifications: minimum HNC in Construction or Building, plus a recognized contract management qualification.
7. Understanding of health and safety, construction practices, procurement routes, and property legislation.
