Job summary

W Talent, partnering with a fast-paced manufacturing business in South Sheffield, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead a small team of Maintenance Engineers. You’ll drive preventative maintenance and hands-on fault-finding in a dynamic plant environment near Chesterfield.

The role offers clear progression into Engineering Management, with opportunities to implement improvements and mentor engineers across FMCG, plastics, and heavy engineering sectors. A challenging yet rewarding next step.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Maintenance Manager, Supervisor or Engineering Team Leader role.
• Strong background in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in FMCG, Food & Beverage, Plastics, Heavy Engineering, Automotive or similar.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers and managing teams.
• Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance systems.
• Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Maintenance Engineers.
• Plan and coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Manage reactive maintenance to minimise production downtime.
• Fault find across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Collaborate with production to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement and process optimisation.
• Support engineering projects, installations and machinery upgrades.
• Uphold health and safety standards and engineering procedures.
