Job summary

Unite Group is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance across a cluster of student accommodation properties, balancing reactive, planned and project works while keeping buildings safe and well maintained.

You will manage a team of maintenance professionals and external contractors, own building safety and compliance, and collaborate with the Cluster Operations Manager and Central Estates to drive performance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading maintenance teams and managing contractors.
• Strong knowledge of planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance operations.
• Understanding health and safety legislation and statutory compliance.
• Ability to review RAMS and ensure contractor on-site compliance.
• Organised, practical and solutions-focused with multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance delivery across your cluster, ensuring reactive, planned and project works meet high standards.
• Take ownership of statutory compliance including fire safety and regulatory maintenance requirements.
• Manage PPM and annual maintenance programmes across buildings.
• Lead, develop and support the Maintenance Team and coordinate contractors and suppliers.
• Act as escalation point for incidents and participate in the Duty Manager rota.
• Support budget management and cost-control initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes and sustainability.
