Job summary

Thistle City Barbican, part of Clermont Hotel Group, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the smooth operation and upkeep of all hotel areas, equipment, and plant. You will lead a maintenance team, manage planned and reactive maintenance, ensure health and safety compliance, and support refurbishment projects to deliver guest-ready environments.

The role requires inspirational leadership, attention to detail, and strong budget management, with a focus on delivering outstanding guest

Contract: Full Time

Payment: Salaried

Salary: £49,440 per annum

Thistle City Barbican is one of our largest London properties with 463 bedrooms, a restaurant, two bars, 13 meeting and event rooms and an Otium Health and Leisure Club. It is close to the Barbican Centre Health and also within walking distance of Shoreditch and Hoxton Square. Its proximity to The City and the Barbican Centre make for a great mix of leisure and business guests.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Maintenance Manager, you will take pride in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of every area of our beautiful hotel, including its equipment, services, building, and plant. From creating a safe and welcoming environment for guests to ensuring back-of-house spaces run like clockwork, your role is central to delivering an extraordinary hospitality experience.

You’ll use your leadership skills to inspire a dedicated maintenance team, ensuring every aspect of the hotel is well-maintained and exceeds guest expectations. By combining your technical expertise with an eye for detail, you’ll help create a seamless experience that enhances every stay, from the smallest fix to the biggest project.

• Leading the maintenance team, inspiring a proactive approach to keep the hotel looking and functioning at its best.
• Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance of all hotel areas, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and legal standards.
• Managing supplier relationships and overseeing the maintenance budget to optimize costs and purchasing.
• Playing a key role in refurbishment projects, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Responding swiftly to maintenance requests to minimize disruption to guest experiences.
