Maintenance Manager

Colchester

£40,000 + Subsidised On-Site Accommodation

We're recruiting for an experienced, hands‑on Maintenance Manager to lead a team of 15 at a flagship site near Colchester.

This is a varied management role overseeing the maintenance of the site's facilities, accommodation and grounds, ensuring everything is safe, well maintained and operating to a high standard.

The Role

• Lead, manage and support a team of 15 maintenance staff
• Oversee both planned and reactive maintenance across the site
• Manage maintenance schedules, contractors and external suppliers
• Monitor maintenance budgets and ensure resources are used effectively
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety requirements
• Maintain high standards across facilities, accommodation and grounds
• Take a hands‑on approach when required and support the wider maintenance team

About You

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or similar
• Experience leading and managing a maintenance team
• Strong organisational and leadership skills
• Good all-round knowledge of building/facilities maintenance
• Understanding of health & safety and compliance
• Practical, hands‑on approach with the ability to get involved when needed
• Able to manage competing priorities in a busy site environment

Working Hours

• March - October: 45 hours per week over 5.5 days
• November - February: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Standard hours: 8:00am - 6:00pm, with a 1-hour lunch break
