Job summary

The Dukes Head Hotel, part of Surya Hotels, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to keep guest areas, bedrooms and back-of-house spaces in excellent condition.

You will lead day-to-day repairs, manage compliance checks and work with department managers to prioritise requests, ensuring safety and high-quality experiences for guests and team members.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in a hotel or similar environment.
• Trade qualifications such as Part P are advantageous.
• Strong organisation and communication skills are essential.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance across the hotel.
• Ensure statutory compliance checks are completed and recorded.
• Manage fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, water safety checks and other site compliance requirements.
• Maintain guest bedrooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces to a high standard.
• Work closely with department managers to address maintenance requests.
• Support contractors and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Help create a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.

We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to help keep The Dukes Head Hotel, part of Surya Hotels,looking its best and operating seamlessly. From guest bedrooms and public areas to essential compliance checks and site maintenance, you'll play a key role in ensuring our historic hotel continues to deliver exceptional experiences for every guest.

What you'll be responsible for as our Maintenance Manager:

• Carrying out day-to-day repairs and maintenance across the hotel
• Ensuring all statutory compliance checks are completed and recorded
• Managing fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, water safety checks and other site compliance requirements
• Maintaining bedrooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces to a high standard
• Working closely with department managers to address maintenance requests
• Supporting contractors and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
• Helping create a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for our guests and team members

What we're looking for in our Maintenance Manager:

• Extensive maintenance experience with hands-on repair skills
• Relevant trade qualifications (such as Part P) would be advantageous
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A good understanding of Health & Safety requirements and compliance processes
• The ability to prioritise workloads and work independently
• Previous experience within a hotel or hospitality environment would be beneficial
