Job summary

Hyatt Place London City East is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to uphold high standards across guest spaces and facilities. You will lead a proactive maintenance team, implement a preventative programme, and collaborate with departments to ensure a safe, seamless guest experience.

Responsibilities include budgeting, supplier negotiations, and continuous improvement through new maintenance practices and technologies. A hands-on leader committed to safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in a maintenance or engineering management role within hospitality or similar settings.
• Expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building motivated teams.
• Financial acumen to manage budgets and negotiate contracts.
• Organisational and multitasking abilities to juggle responsibilities and respond quickly to issues.
• Flexibility to respond to urgent repairs, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.

• Manage department budget, track expenses and negotiate supplier contracts for value and quality.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety, compliance, and aesthetics across rooms and facilities.
• Foster continuous improvement by sharing best practices and embracing new maintenance technologies.
• Maintain a safe environment for guests and staff at all times.

• Take charge of maintaining our hotel's high standards, ensuring every guest space, facility, and behind-the-scenes area operates flawlessly and looks pristine
• Lead and inspire the maintenance team, cultivating a proactive and hands‑on approach to repairs, upgrades, and day‑to‑day operations that support a smooth guest experience
• Design and oversee a preventative maintenance programme, extending the life of equipment and facilities to avoid unexpected interruptions and keep everything running like clockwork
• Collaborate with other departments to anticipate and swiftly address maintenance needs, from emergency repairs to room upgrades, delivering a reliable and safe environment for guests and staff alike
• Manage the department budget with a keen eye on cost‑effective solutions, tracking expenses, negotiating supplier contracts, and prioritising repairs and renovations
• Conduct regular inspections of the hotel, keeping your finger on the pulse of each room, common area, and facility to ensure safety, compliance, and aesthetic standards
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, implementing best practices and encouraging skill development for efficient, high‑quality service
• Keep up‑to‑date with the latest tools, technology, and maintenance techniques to bring fresh ideas and innovations to the property, enhancing both function and form
