Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Maintenance Lead for our Wolverhampton site to own maintenance activities, emphasising preventive maintenance, reliability, and safety. This hands-on leadership role will coordinate with operations to minimise downtime and drive continuous improvement.

You will manage external contractors, maintain the MaintainX system, and lead a team to deliver planned maintenance and equipment upgrades in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in planned and reactive maintenance within a manufacturing, production, or process environment.
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Team Leader, or readiness to step into a leadership role.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with electrical or mechanical bias.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain all site maintenance activities, including external contractors.
• Manage and maintain the MaintainX maintenance management system.
• Assign, prioritise and monitor maintenance work orders.
• Deliver planned preventive maintenance programmes effectively.
• Diagnose equipment failures and coordinate timely repairs.
• Support equipment installations, commissioning and upgrades.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Manage spare parts inventory and supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
