Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Maintenance Lead to oversee maintenance activities at our Wolverhampton site. This hands-on leadership role emphasises preventive maintenance, reliability, contractor management and safety.

You will work with Operations to reduce downtime and drive site reliability. Reporting to the Director - Operations & Engineering, the role involves coordinating various maintenance projects, managing the MaintainX system, and ensuring accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience in planned and reactive maintenance within manufacturing/production environments.
• Demonstrated leadership or readiness to take on a lead role.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with electrical or mechanical bias.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain all site maintenance activities, including external contractors.
• Manage and maintain the MaintainX maintenance management system.
• Assign, prioritise and monitor maintenance work orders.
• Deliver planned preventive maintenance programmes effectively.
• Diagnose equipment failures and coordinate timely repairs.
• Support equipment installations, commissioning and upgrades.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Manage spare parts inventory and supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
