Job summary

Ritz Recruitment is seeking a proactive Maintenance Operative for a busy student accommodation site in Bath for the summer period. You will handle maintenance requests, perform general repairs, and support both reactive and preventative maintenance to keep the estate safe and well-presented.

This temporary role requires reliable, self-motivated individuals who can work independently and communicate clearly with residents and teams.

Qualifications

• Proven Maintenance/Handyman/Trade experience.
• Strong practical skills across general maintenance disciplines.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests via internal systems.
• Carry out general repairs, including plumbing, decorating, joinery.

• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and communal areas.
• Identify and address maintenance issues and health & safety risks.
• Support record-keeping for maintenance logs, inspections, and compliance.

We are looking for a proactive multi‑skilled Maintenance Operative to join a busy student accommodation for the summer period. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering an outstanding living experience by ensuring all maintenance and repair requests within the accommodation are handled efficiently and effectively.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance, ensuring the estate remains safe, compliant, and well‑presented at all times.
