Job summary

Meriden Media is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a busy student accommodation site in central Bath. This hands-on role ensures rooms and communal areas are safe, functional and ready for residents ahead of the new academic year.

You will perform general repairs, from door handles to lighting, plumbing and decorating, with a flexible schedule and immediate start. The position offers an ongoing temporary assignment with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, caretaking or facilities role.
• Practical skills across general building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repair across the building.
• Repair door handles, locks, furniture, fittings and fixtures.
• Replace light bulbs and perform basic electrical repairs.
• Undertake minor plumbing tasks, including fixing taps, unblocking drains, and replacing shower doors.
• Complete painting touch-ups and minor decorating work.
• Inspect appliances and report faults.
• Ensure rooms meet health and safety standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from site team.
• Support the wider team in preparing accommodation for incoming residents.

Pay: £14.31 per hour

Working Hours: Flexible between 8:00/9:00 AM - 4:00/5:00 PM
