Job summary

Ritz Recruitment is seeking a proactive Maintenance Operative to join a busy student accommodation in Sheffield City Centre for the summer period. You will handle maintenance and repair requests, carry out planned, preventative and reactive work, and help keep the estate safe, compliant and well-presented.

The role requires hands-on skills across plumbing, decorating and joinery, the ability to work independently, respond quickly to requests, and communicate clearly with residents and teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance/handyman/trade roles.
• General repairs including plumbing, decorating and joinery.
• Able to work independently and manage workload.
• Reliable and self-motivated with ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests via internal systems.

We are looking for a proactive multi skilled Maintenance Operative to join a busy student accommodation for the summer period. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering an outstanding living experience by ensuring all maintenance and repair requests within the accommodation are handled efficiently and effectively.

You'll be responsible for carrying out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance, ensuring the estate remains safe, compliant, and well-presented at all times.

Duties:

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests via internal systems
• Carry out general repairs, including plumbing, decorating, joinery
• Support both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and communal areas
