Automation Experts is recruiting for a Maintenance & Facilities Technician in the West Midlands. The role focuses on mechanical maintenance across production machinery and facilities, with training and overtime opportunities within a growing manufacturing operation.

The successful candidate will join a stable, long-term employer offering ongoing development and varied day-to-day tasks, including working at height and site improvements.

Qualifications

• Mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Electrical and pneumatic maintenance knowledge advantageous.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to undertake additional training and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site equipment.
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and perform reactive maintenance.
• Support maintenance and upkeep of factory facilities and infrastructure.
• Assist with improving maintenance procedures and documentation.
• Carry out basic fault finding and repairs across mechanical equipment.
• Support PUWER assessments and safe operation of machinery.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
• Work safely, including at height when required.
• Contribute to site improvements and expansion projects.

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business with an annual turnover of £250 million. As part of continued investment in its operations, including the construction of a new £25 million warehouse, the company is looking to appoint a practical, hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support the upkeep of both production equipment and site facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer looking to broaden their skills and develop into a multi-skilled role. You will receive ongoing training and support while working within a stable, growing business that offers long-term career prospects, varied day-to-day responsibilities and the chance to be involved in an expanding manufacturing facility.

Maintenance Technician The Role:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site equipment


• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and perform reactive maintenance


• Support the maintenance and upkeep of factory facilities and infrastructure


• Assist with improving preventative maintenance procedures and maintenance documentation


• Carry out basic fault finding and repairs across mechanical equipment

Maintenance Technician What We're Looking For:

• Mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment


• Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC, City & Guilds or equivalent practical experience


• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills


• Electrical and pneumatic maintenance knowledge would be advantageous


• Comfortable working at height


• Self-motivated with a practical, hands-on approach


• Good communication and organisational skills


• Basic IT skills for recording maintenance activities


• Willingness to undertake additional training and occasional overtime
