Job summary

ATA Recruitment in Birmingham seeks a Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team on a 4 on 4 off schedule with 12-hour shifts, including days and nights. Youll cover reactive maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment, supporting uptime on a fast-paced site.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 3+ engineering qualification and experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, and be able to work independently in a highly reactive setting.

Qualifications

• A recognised engineering qualification equivalent to Level 3 or above (NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC).
• Previous experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Ability to work independently in a highly reactive maintenance environment.

• Reactive breakdown maintenance across production machinery and plant equipment.
• Maintain rollers, strippers, formers, extruders, steamers and pressers.

A well‑established manufacturing business is looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team in Birmingham.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Reactive breakdown maintenance across production machinery and plant equipment
• Working on rollers, strippers, formers, extruders, steamers and pressers
• Supporting machine uptime within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment

Requirements

• A recognised engineering qualification equivalent to a Level 3 or above (NVQ, City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC etc.)
• Previous experience within manufacturing or industrial environments
• Ability to work independently within a highly reactive maintenance environment

Benefits

• £56,000 salary
• Average earnings around £65,000 with overtime
