Job summary

Quantum Care is a not-for-profit organisation supporting over 2,000 older people across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex. We are looking for a caretaker/maintenance worker to carry out routine inspections, clean outdoor areas, assist with moving furniture, and support the smooth operation of the Home at Furzewood Lodge in South Oxhey.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, professional approach when interacting with residents, visitors, contractors, and colleagues.
• Confidence working independently and managing your own workload.
• Basic IT skills for reporting maintenance issues and completing records.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections of the Home and report maintenance needs to the Housekeeping Manager.
• Clean outdoor areas such as footpaths, waste and parking zones, including snow and ice clearance.
• Assist with moving furniture, including tables and hospital beds.
• Undertake additional duties, as required, to support the smooth operation of the Home, as directed by the Home Manager or Housekeeping Manager.
• A proactive approach with the ability to identify and resolve issues before they become problems.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Good communication with residents, visitors, contractors and colleagues.
• Basic IT skills for reporting maintenance issues and completing records.
