Quantum Care is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator at Furzewood Lodge, South Oxhey, Watford. This full-time role (35–37 hours) with 9am–5pm, Monday–Friday, involves carrying out essential maintenance tasks within a 75-bed care home to ensure safe, clean, and well-presented environments for residents.

You will work independently, manage your workload, report issues, and support the wider team in daily operations while upholding compassionate, person-centered care.

Qualifications

Experience in caretaker, maintenance, facilities, or building services.
Practical skills for basic repairs and upkeep.
Proactive approach to identify and resolve issues.
Ability to work independently and manage workload.
Strong organisational skills; prioritise tasks.
Commitment to safe, clean, well-presented environments.
Good communication with residents, visitors, contractors.
Basic IT skills for reporting issues and records.

Responsibilities

Painting and decorating
Conduction minor repairs
Replacing light bulbs and other features
Hanging pictures and fittings
Repairing or replacing door furniture
Installing shelves and TV brackets
Replacing stained or damaged ceiling tiles
Carrying out routine inspections and reporting needs
Cleaning outdoor areas and snow/ice clearance
Moving furniture as required
Undertaking additional duties to support the Home operations

Maintenance Coordinator

Contract: Full Time - Perm

Hour: 35 - 37 hours per week

Shifts: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday

Pay: £14.39 per hour weekdays & £14.89 per hour weekends

We are seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to join our newly opened purpose built Care Home Furzewood Lodge in South Oxhey, Watford. The 75 bed modern facility has been thoughtfully designed to provide an excellent working environment and state of the art home for residents. Nestled in the heart of South Oxhey, it offers a welcoming setting with excellent local amenities, green open spaces, and convenient transport links, creating a comfortable and well-connected environment for residents and staff alike.

As a Maintenance Coordinator, you will provide compassionate person-cantered care and support residents with respect and dignity to maintain independence.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Painting and decorating

Repairing or replacing door furniture
Installing shelves and TV Brackets
Replacing stained or damaged Ceiling tiles
Carrying out routine inspections of the Home and reporting maintenance needs to the Housekeeping Manager
Cleaning outdoor areas such as footpaths, waste and parking zones, including snow and ice clearance
Assisting with moving furniture, including tables and hospital beds
Undertaking additional duties, as required, to support the smooth operation of the Home, as directed by the Home Manager or Housekeeping Manager
