Job summary

Nestlé York Factory is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to enhance asset reliability and drive continuous improvement in the Aero Department. You’ll use maintenance data and structured methods to reduce losses, strengthen planned maintenance, and support the factory’s long-term strategy.

Working with planners, technicians, and operations, you’ll build capability, ensure safety and compliance, and deliver sustainable improvements across the line and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
• Advanced engineering apprenticeship or equivalent practical training.
• Experience analysing breakdowns and using structured problem-solving to improve reliability.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to influence, coach and collaborate across levels while taking initiative.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage reliability risks using factory data to focus improvement activity.
• Translate factory maintenance strategy into robust departmental plans to improve equipment performance.
• Lead root cause analysis and improvement work to reduce stoppages and strengthen standards.
• Support expansion of Total Productive Maintenance through coaching technicians and operators.
• Help maintain GMP, quality, engineering changes, and line-release requirements.
• Build specialist knowledge of process equipment and contribute to improvements.
