Job summary

Nestlé York Factory is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to improve asset reliability and performance within the Aero Department. You will use maintenance systems and data to reduce recurring losses and to strengthen the factory’s long-term maintenance strategy, working with planners, technicians and operators across the site.

You will lead improvement activities, coach teams, and ensure compliant, safe operations while delivering robust maintenance plans aligned with production goals.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance or equivalent.
• Completion of a modern advanced engineering apprenticeship or equivalent practical training.
• Experience analysing breakdowns and using structured problem-solving methods to improve equipment reliability.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain progress in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to influence, coach and work effectively with colleagues at different levels.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage reliability risks using factory data to focus improvement activity.
• Translate the maintenance strategy into robust department plans for better asset performance.
• Lead root cause analysis and improvement activity to reduce stoppages and recurrence.
• Support TPM expansion by coaching technicians, apprentices and operators.
• Help maintain GMP, quality, engineering change management and line-release standards.
