Job summary

Elis, reading-based, is seeking a hands-on Engineer to keep our operation running safely and reliably. You’ll perform planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on site machinery and infrastructure, fault-finding, and repairs to minimise downtime.

You’ll work with Production to improve performance, contribute to site improvements, and maintain CMMS records while developing your skills within a global organisation that values safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Around 3 years' engineering experience in manufacturing or process environments.
• Multiskilled with practical mechanical and electrical skills.
• Experience with electrical circuits, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Logical, methodical fault-finding and root-cause analysis.
• Self-motivated with a safety-first mindset and good decision-making.
• Strong communication and teamwork across site functions.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Comfortable maintaining accurate PPM/maintenance records.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance to maximise reliability.
• Diagnose mechanical/electrical faults and implement safe, effective repairs.
• Maintain site assets and infrastructure to high standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and site performance.
• Collaborate with Operations to respond to engineering requirements.
• Ensure safety requirements and safe systems of work are followed.
• Complete inspections and maintenance records using the CMMS.
• Support equipment upgrades and wider engineering projects.
