Job summary

Elis UK Ltd in Northfleet is seeking a practical Maintenance Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of site machinery and infrastructure. You’ll perform planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and collaborate with production to minimise downtime and improve performance.

You will work in a fast-paced environment that values problem solving, accuracy, and a proactive safety mindset, with opportunities to contribute to site improvements and professional development.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in manufacturing, production or process‑driven environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills.
• Experience with electrical circuits, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Self‑motivated and decisive, with quick reaction to operational needs.
• Understanding of safe engineering practices and risk communication.
• Strong teamwork and communication across site teams.
• Maintaining accurate PPM and maintenance records using CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventive and reactive maintenance across site machinery, equipment and infrastructure.
• Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs safely and efficiently.
• Maintain assets and site infrastructure to high standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and site performance.
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to meet requirements.
• Adhere to safety requirements and safe systems of work.
• Complete inspections and CMMS documentation.
• Support equipment upgrades and wider engineering projects.
