Job summary

Impact Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a successful and growing business based in Enderby, Leicester. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs across a wide range of fixed plant and processing machinery.

Qualifications

• Experience working on fixed plant, heavy machinery, recycling equipment, manufacturing machinery or similar environments.
• Strong mechanical engineering and electrical knowledge with hands-on maintenance experience.
• MUST be able to weld.
• Experience working with conveyors, gearboxes, belts, chains, balers or similar equipment is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider Engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing and inspections across site machinery and equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and complete reactive maintenance tasks to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults effectively.
• Maintain and repair a wide range of fixed plant equipment including gearboxes, conveyors, belts, chains, balers and associated machinery.
• Carry out welding and fabrication work when required.
• Complete maintenance records, reports and relevant documentation accurately.
• Support continuous improvement activities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Work closely with the Engineering team and wider site teams to ensure operational efficiency.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
