Job summary

First Call Contract Services Limited is hiring a Maintenance Engineer for its Needham Market site. The role offers a £30,000 per annum salary with a route to permanent employment and initial pay via agency for the first twelve weeks.

As a Maintenance Engineer you will set up machinery, perform PPMs, diagnose faults and repair electrical, mechanical and electromechanical issues on packaging and production equipment, while following health and safety standards and recording activities.

Qualifications

• Experience as a maintenance engineer, electrical engineer, or engineering technician.
• Maintenance experience within manufacturing, production, packaging or FMCG.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills with a logical, methodical approach to root-cause analysis and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Set up machinery and complete production line changeovers accurately and efficiently
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to improve equipment reliability and prevent avoidable breakdowns
• Respond quickly and calmly to machinery breakdowns, minimising downtime and disruption to production
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and electromechanical faults across packaging and production equipment
• Inspect machinery for wear, defects and early signs of failure before they become bigger problems
• Follow health and safety procedures, safe systems of work and site quality standards every time
• Accurately record maintenance activity, repairs and recurring faults
