Job summary

Gi Group is recruiting a Machine Maintenance Engineer for a permanent hands-on role in Andover. You will fault-find, repair and carry out planned maintenance across a varied range of machinery, working with one other engineer to keep production safe and efficient.

You’ll coordinate external contractors, maintain records, mentor a junior colleague and help drive improvements. Benefits include £45,000-£50,000 (DOE), 28 days holidays, pension, free parking and an early finish on Fridays.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Maintenance Engineer / Machine Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing/engineering.
• Strong fault-finding and hands-on repair capability (mechanical essential; electrical advantageous).
• Confident prioritising breakdowns and communicating with production.
• Comfortable coordinating external contractors and managing work on site.
• A team player who can support a junior colleague.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and fix faults on engineering/manufacturing machinery and site equipment
• Reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs to minimise downtime
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections and servicing
• Work across multiple machine types on site (varied kit)
• Support/mentor a maintenance colleague day-to-day
• Liaise with and arrange contractors for specialist repairs and servicing (bookings, access, coordinating work on site, ensuring safe working/RAMS)
• Keep maintenance records up to date and help identify recurring issues/improvements
