Job summary

Hunter Selection is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a bespoke manufacturer in the Plymouth area. The role offers varied day-to-day work and genuine long-term career progression within a first-class manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include carrying out planned preventive maintenance, fixing breakdowns quickly, fault finding on machinery, and maintaining a strong health and safety culture. The position requires time-served experience and multi-skilled engineering capability.

Qualifications

• Time served as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
• Minimum 2 years' experience.
• Ideally apprentice trained.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPMs).
• Deal with all breakdowns on site, minimising downtime.
• Perform fault finding on machinery to identify issues.
• Adhere to health and safety and instigate a positive culture.
• Apply knowledge and understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing to improve processes.
• Install single‑phase and three‑phase electrical motors.
• Be flexible with working hours.
