Galaxy Personnel is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) for a small, friendly team in the meat processing sector. You will respond swiftly to production breakdowns and carry out planned preventative maintenance across conveyors, evisceration equipment, and packaging lines at a Bury St Edmunds area site.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will ensure uptime, support continuous improvement projects, and comply with food safety standards like HACCP and BRC.

Qualifications

• NVQ in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Maintenance Engineering.
• Experience with fault-finding in mechanical and basic electrical systems.
• Knowledge of HACCP or BRC food safety standards.

Responsabilités

• Respond to production breakdowns to maximise uptime.
• Perform preventative maintenance on conveyors, evisceration equipment, and packaging lines.
• Support continuous improvement and layout changes to reduce waste and improve safety.
