Job summary

MTrec Ltd Technical is seeking an experienced maintenance engineer to perform planned preventive and reactive maintenance on industrial production equipment. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, respond to breakdowns, and minimise downtime while supporting installations and improvements.

Working with a small team, you will prioritise safety, hygiene and efficient operations, with a hands-on, proactive approach and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and fault-finding industrial production equipment.
• Experience working with electrical systems and equipment up to 415V.
• Good knowledge of three-phase electrical systems.
• Mechanical maintenance experience including pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes and drive systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small engineering team.
• Experience managing a varied workload across planned maintenance, projects, installations and breakdowns.
• Ideally apprentice-trained or holding relevant engineering qualifications.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding knowledge.
• Computer literate.
• 18th Edition advantageous; training can be provided.
• Evidence of ongoing professional and technical development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use own initiative and work proactively.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good planning and organisational abilities.
• Flexible, practical and hands-on approach to engineering

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults.
• Responding to equipment breakdowns and minimising production downtime.
• Supporting equipment installations and modifications.
• Contributing to engineering improvements and reliability initiatives.
• Working collaboratively with the wider engineering and production teams.
• Maintaining a high standard of health, safety and housekeeping.
