Job summary

Pertemps Gloucester (Chiltern) Industrial is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for its Tewkesbury site. The role focuses on planned maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement to ensure machinery reliability and production efficiency.

The successful candidate will work across mechanical and electrical systems, handle breakdowns efficiently and contribute to safety and quality standards on site. This is a hands-on, full-time, permanent position with development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar engineering role in manufacturing.
• Experience in a production or industrial environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and collaboration abilities.
• Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Attention to quality, safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance across production machinery and site equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform reactive maintenance repairs.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and control faults.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and validation of new machinery.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Monitor machinery performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure critical spares are available and liaise with contractors when needed.
• Support site facilities maintenance and services.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects for reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and COSHH.
