Job summary

Pertemps Gloucester (Chiltern) Industrial seeks a Maintenance Operative for a Tewkesbury manufacturing business. This is a full‑time, 12‑week temp‑to‑perm opportunity paying £14 per hour, with a 20% shift premium on alternating PM shifts.

Work alongside an experienced Site Engineer to support machinery upkeep and site facilities. Key duties include routine inspections, basic repairs and assisting with preventive tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, engineering or mechanical experience preferred
• Handyman, workshop or fitting experience considered
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical skills
• Electrical awareness would be advantageous
• Counterbalance forklift licence preferred
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Willingness to learn and adapt

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Site Engineer with maintenance and repair tasks
• Assisting with machinery, equipment and facility maintenance
• Carrying out basic mechanical repairs and upkeep
• Supporting preventative maintenance schedules
• Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Assisting with installation and assembly work as required
• Moving materials and equipment around site
• Reporting faults, breakdowns and health & safety concerns
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Supporting the wider team with general maintenance duties
