Job summary

Unknown in Hirwaun, Wales is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to maintain and improve production equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will work with modern manufacturing machinery while benefiting from ongoing training and development.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventative and reactive maintenance, and support start-ups, calibrations, and upgrades, with a strong emphasis on health, safety, and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering qualification (or recognised trade qualification).
• Maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, and basic PLC-controlled equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and Health & Safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
• Support equipment start-ups, changeovers, calibrations, and upgrades.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS.
• Work closely with production teams to improve reliability and performance.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, hygiene, and food safety standards.
