Job summary

Omega Resource Group is recruiting a skilled Maintenance Engineer for a busy food manufacturing site in Wrexham on a continental shift pattern (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am). You will perform planned and reactive maintenance to keep packaging equipment running safely and with minimal downtime.

You'll diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, support production teams to maximise efficiency, and contribute to continuous improvement while adhering to health, safety and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline (or equivalent).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (food/FMCG) preferred.
• Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Proactive, team-focused with good communication skills.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and make sound engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime
• Support production teams to ensure machinery operates at optimal efficiency
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks in line with site schedules
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health & safety, food safety, and quality standards
• Accurately record maintenance activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist with equipment improvements, breakdown root cause analysis, and minor project work
• Work effectively on a continental shift pattern, handing over clearly between shifts

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Shift Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing site in Wrexham. Operating within a high-volume, fast-paced environment, you’ll play a key role in ensuring production equipment runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands‑on problem‑solving and working as part of a collaborative shift team.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities - Maintenance Engineer

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment
