Job summary

GI Group is recruiting a hands-on Machine Maintenance Engineer for a precision manufacturing site in Andover, Hampshire. The role is permanent, with fault-finding, breakdown response and planned maintenance across a varied range of machinery, working alongside one other engineer to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Maintenance Engineer / Machine Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing/engineering.
• Fault-finding and hands-on repair capability (mechanical essential; electrical advantageous).
• Confident prioritising breakdowns and communicating with production.
• Comfortable coordinating external contractors and managing work on site.
• A team player who can support a junior colleague.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and fix faults on engineering/manufacturing machinery and site equipment.
• Reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs to minimise downtime.
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections and servicing.
• Liaise with and arrange contractors for specialist repairs and servicing (bookings, access, coordinating work on site, ensuring safe working/RAMS).
• Keep maintenance records up to date and help identify recurring issues/improvements.

Hours: Mon-Thu 8:00am-5:00pm | Fri 8:00am-2:30pm (early finish)

Location: Andover, Hampshire

We're recruiting a

fault finding, breakdown response and planned maintenance across a

one other engineer, supporting their development while helping keep production running safely and efficiently.
