Job summary

Gi Group in Andover seeks a Machine Maintenance Engineer to provide hands-on fault finding and maintenance across a varied range of machinery. You will work with one fellow engineer and help keep production running safely and efficiently.

The role focuses on reactive breakdown response, planned maintenance, and coordinating with external contractors. We offer a permanent, days-based schedule with an early finish on Fridays and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Maintenance Engineer / Machine Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing/engineering.
• Strong fault-finding and hands-on repair capability (mechanical essential; electrical advantageous).
• Confident prioritising breakdowns and communicating with production.
• Comfortable coordinating external contractors and managing work on site.
• A team player who can support a junior colleague.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and fix faults on engineering/manufacturing machinery and site equipment
• Reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs to minimise downtime
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections and servicing
• Work across multiple machine types on site (varied kit)
• Support/mentor a maintenance colleague day-to-day
• Liaise with and arrange contractors for specialist repairs and servicing (bookings, access, coordinating work on site, ensuring safe working/RAMS)
• Keep maintenance records up to date and help identify recurring issues/improvements

Salary: £45,000-£50,000 per annum (DOE)

Hours: Mon-Thu 8:00am-5:00pm | Fri 8:00am-2:30pm (early finish)

Location: Andover, Hampshire

We're recruiting a Machine Maintenance Engineer for a well-established precision manufacturing site in Andover. This is a permanent, hands-on role focused on fault finding, breakdown response and planned maintenance across a varied range of machinery. You'll work alongside one other engineer, supporting their development while helping keep production running safely and efficiently.
